YOUNG MEN REACH - Raising Each Available Child Holy Elder Walter "Ray" Cooke |
Our vision is to serve the young male by empowering Him with knowledge of “what” he is and “whom” he’s been called to be—providing consistent personal attention and love. The general goal of “REACH” is to transform young men into Disciples of Christ. The program also supports positive decision-making that brings the young man into greater harmony with the will of God. "REACH's" objective is to present effective educational strategies that attract young men towards a Godly lifestyle. In addition, our target is to provide mentorship that supports the development of positive thinking, self-esteem and pride in the youth. |

| As part of the "REACH" program we have also implemented sessions that will deal with the natural aspect of each participant's life and as they go through continuous transitions in their lives each will present new changes and challenges, that will impact the new levels and heights in their lives. Every 1st, 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month, we will be meeting with the young men to discuss various issues. As part of the meetings we have created and implemented a program titled “Planting a Positive Seed”. The purpose of this program is to enhance and examine the mental, social awareness and exploring the underlying issues that our youth and young adults are faced with in everyday life. Through the various discussion and hands on activities, this will allow the young men to take personal responsibility for his behavior beyond the walls of Greater Deliverance Christian Center that will control and change the outcomes of their decision. Although the discussion will be mostly from a natural stand point, we will also relate them to the biblical principle of God’s Word... Each topic has a theme; Accepting the Unknown……..Understanding/Respecting cultural Difference and Peer Pressure of fitting in Youth and Money……Understanding Financial Management Overcoming Obstacles……Gaining Positive Results A Winning Attitude…..Building Character Proactive instead of Reactive……Dealing with Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution Valuing Life…….Creating a strong social, person belief system "Young Men Standing Up, To Step Out, To Be About Something" |
